District 5 Creative Panel – Digital Capital Week 2010

I spent Saturday afternoon hanging out at Digital Capital Week, a social media and technology festival held in downtown Washington, DC. I checked out the first event of the day, the District 5 Creative Panel. It consisted a group of five creatives: a freelance photographer, the founder of Pink Line Project, the co-founder of DC Design Babes, the founder of Brightest Young Things, and the creative director of Clearspring.

I enjoyed the panel. Being a fellow creative in my spare time, I could relate to the panelists who decided to turn their hobby into a full-time job. Right now I just want to turn my hobby, photography, into a side business. I’m not ready to give up the regular paycheck and benefits.
