Rubbing a person out of a photo

A friend of mine needed a person removed from a photo right away for work. She called me up and asked if I could do it quickly and have it ready by the next morning. No problem I said, even though I hadn’t even taken a look at the photo yet. Thankfully the person who needed to be rubbed out appeared small in the photo.

Here’s the before and after:

I had to use a combination of the clone stamp tool and copying another part of the image, for example the sidewalk edge, and drafting it over the part I want to hide. I think it’s very hard to tell the person was in the photo in the first place.
