One of the things I miss about living in New England is going apple picking in the fall. Apple picking brings me back to my childhood. It was an annual fall ritual for my family. The thing I would most look forward to when we went apple picking was picking up a half gallon jug of apple cider.
I got the chance to go apple picking when I was home Labor Day weekend in Massachusetts. I went my family to Parlee Farms in Tyngsboro, MA, very close to the New Hampshire border. It was a gorgeous fall day with the apple picking season already in full swing. I was lucky it came early this year. The season usually comes later in September and I end up missing it.
The fact that it was a bright, sunny day allowed me to just leave my camera on the Auto setting. I did keep in mind where the sun was when I was shooting so as not to get my highlights blown out.
